CPS qualified to be one of the clubs representing the EAF at this event by coming 4th at the EAF InterClub Championships in March 2023. The other EAF Clubs were PICO Beyond and Melbourn.

The event was held at Westholme School, Blackburn Lancashire.

The Judges were:

  • Armado Jongejan FRPS
  • Erica Oram CPAGB AFIAP BPE
  • Christine Widdall MPAGB EFIAP FBPE APAGB Hon L&CPU

This is the first time that CPS have been selected to attend this event.

All 37 participating clubs entered 2 prints each into Round One, the top eight clubs from this round go on to the Final, the remaining clubs are entered into a round called The Plate (Sort of a division two).

Clubs managing to get through to the final are automatically invited to compete in next years competition.

So far so good for CPS, we made it to the final! So will be invited back next year. As the highest scoring newcomers we had also won the “Rookie” award.

The final

Each qualifying club has to select 15 prints for the final, up to 10 of these can be ones used in round one. Tactically we only used prints from round one that scored well and chose the other images from genres that seemed to be favoured by the judges.

The final was quite relaxing for us as we felt that we’d already achieved all that we were likely to at this event. Or so we thought!

Best Colour: “ Mothers Love” by ?

Each individual judge gave their own awards for their best mono and colour prints.

Erica Oram awarded her best mono print to “Village Girl Gugerat” by Colin Westgate of Colchester PS.

So what an event for CPS 4th overall (PAGB Silver Medal) best Rookie club, and equal best position for an EAF Club.

All four EAF clubs will be at next years event as Melbourn and District CC won the “Plate” competition and so qualify to take part in next years competition.

Attached are the individual print information and scores for Round one and the final.
