Tonight we once again kick off the season with a film night, where chairs will be set out around tables and members encouraged to bring snacks, nibbles and liquid refreshments, including alcohol if you so wish. Tonight’s film is “Chasing Ice” . Acclaimed photographer James Balog was once sceptical about climate change but through his clever use of time-lapse cameras he presents us with the frightening reality of how our world is rapidly changing.

In winter, the unique Icelandic landscape is transformed into something truly magical, with a blanket of snow and ice covering everything, including frozen rivers, lakes, and waterfalls. The special quality of light during this season adds another dimension to the scenery, and the longer nights increase the chances of experiencing the Northern Lights.
