40 Years Worth - Talk by Leigh Preston FRPS MPAGB EFIAP FIPF
Tues 13th May 2025 7:30pm - 10:00pm
An hour long talk that is representative of the style of photography that has evolved over all the years I’ve taken images. There’s a little about the past - a few darkroom pictures, but in the main it’s about a progression, a series of single image sketches, coupled with several short themes , some of which are among my most recent work. You’ll see landscape, city abstracts, portraits of working people, musicians, Industrial landscape, some work from London and some pictures linked to far-flung locations from India to Greenland, from Cuba to Australia, via the USA, Europe, Georgia and something from a very recent book on Liverpool. Sadly I’ve no wildlife, nothing from the so called ‘creatively constructed composite’ genre ( which I enjoy, but cannot build successfully!), no studio, fashion or glamour - sorry, but much of what’s in this selection is emotive, atmospheric , not always ‘pretty’, it leans on nostalgia and on how I use light and geometry.
